CUG Students Shine at Wuhan Marathon

HE Jie '27 broke the domestic record of the Wuhan Marathon with an impressive time of 2:10:28 on March 23. Other 4 CUG students also achieved good results.

The crowd erupted in cheers as HE Jie crossed the finish line. Not only did he set a new personal best, but he also shattered the previous domestic record of the Wuhan Marathon by a significant margin.

After the race, he expressed his excitement, “Wuhan is my city of luck. From winning championships to breaking records, this place has witnessed my growth.” Earlier this year, he achieved his second-best personal time of 2:7:20 at the Tokyo Marathon. His performance in Wuhan showcased the results of his winter training and his peak competitive performance.

Full marathon runners ZENG Jiayu and LU Zinuo finished with times of 2:55:43 and 3:54:23, respectively. Half-marathon participants ZHANG Wenlong and MO Yingying clocked in at 1:24:29 and 1:39:38. Notably, ZENG, LU, and MO all set new personal bests.

The achievements of these students highlight CUG’s commitment to fostering both academic excellence and athletic prowess, inspiring peers to pursue their passions beyond the classroom.
