The opening ceremony of the Belt and Road International Center for Geoscience Education and Training (hereinafter referred to as “the Center” ) was held at the International Education College of the CUG on November 26, 2024. The event marked a significant milestone in CUG’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and excellence in geoscience education.
In his address, CUG President LI Jianwei highlighted CUG’s long-standing tradition of nurturing international professionals in the field of geosciences and mineral resources. He noted that CUG has trained nearly 10,000 professionals from over 100 countries, with 80% of these students coming from “Belt and Road” partner countries. President LI emphasized CUG’s dedication to establishing the Center as a world-class hub for international professionals.
