On December 6th, the Rwandan Ambassador to China, James Kimonyo, along with his delegation, paid a visit to CUG. Vice President of CUG, WANG Lizhe, greeted Ambassador Kimonyo and his team. During the visit, WANG gave an outline of CUG’s history, academic fields, and education programs for international students.
WANG emphasized Rwanda’s abundant mineral resources and indicated CUG’s willingness to collaborate with the institutions in Rwanda. Leveraging the Belt and Road International Center for Geoscience Education and Training, CUG aims to jointly develop professionals in the field of mineral resources, contributing to the China-African community with a shared future.
James Kimonyo acknowledged CUG’s achievements in international education and expressed gratitude for its contributions to the education of Rwandan students. He noted that the friendship between China and Rwanda has endured throughout time, and during the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the two countries elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Looking ahead, he expressed hope for more educational and scientific cooperation as well as academic exchanges and reciprocal visits between teachers and students from both sides.
