CUG’s Intellectual Property Rights Compliance Certified by National Standard

Nov 29, 2021

CUG’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) compliance was certified by the national standard on November 15, making CUG the first certified university in Hubei province.

The standard, drafted by China National Intellectual Property Administration, the Ministry of Education, and China National Institute of Standardization, was officially promulgated and implemented on January 1, 2017. CUG undertook the IPR compliance project of Hubei Provincial Intellectual Property Administration in 2018, taking the lead in exploring IPR compliance among universities.

In this November, CUG was requested for external review and passed it. The panel acknowledged the suitability and effectiveness of CUG’s current IPR management system, and gave guidance on possible risks and prevention & control measures as well.

The certification further standardizes the leading and supporting role of IPR in scientific and technological innovation at CUG, marks CUG’s more standardized and institutionalized management of IPR, and raises CUG’s creation, protection, management, and use of IPR to a new level. CUG will take this opportunity to strengthen the quality, efficiency, management, and service of IPR for progress in scientific innovation and academic disciplines.
