The Key Laboratory of Deep Geothermal Resources applied by CUG was accredited by the Ministry of Natural Resources on August 1, 2021.
The Key Laboratory of Deep Geothermal Resources is a scientific and technological innovation platform led by CUG President WANG Yanxin’s interdisciplinary research team with the participation of the School of Environmental Studies, the School of Earth Sciences, the School of Geophysics and Geomatics, and the School of Engineering, in cooperation with China Energy Investment Corporation. The key laboratory focuses on the frontiers of deep geothermal science in China as well as the major strategic needs of the country and combines the strategic deployment of China’s energy structure optimization, and devotes to solving scientific issues such as the causes of deep geothermal resources and the law of thermal enrichment.
Besides, the key laboratory of mine ecological effects and system restoration, whose application CUG participated in together with China Institute of Geological and Environmental Monitoring, was also listed among the 42 accredited key laboratories.
