The final of the 11th China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition was held at China University of Petroleum in Beijing on May 22 and 23. CUG students won 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, and 5 third prizes; ZHONG Zhi and 7 other teachers won outstanding tutors awards; LIU Rui won the model individual of competition organization.
In the software development group, the team formed by postgraduates GUO Xu, WEI Hao, LI Chenglong, XIANG Li and undergraduate student WU Tiantian from the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering won the first prize. The team formed by postgraduates LU Shengyu, WU Xinyue, WANG Min, LI Zhiyao, and undergraduate student JIANG Zirun took the second prize.

In the group of project design, the team formed by postgraduates of CHEN Kangli, MA Ding, ZHANG Zhenjie, and ZHAO Luting won the second prize. The team formed by postgraduate student KANG Nong and undergraduate student XU Huaxin won the second prize. Other 5 teams from CUG won the third prizes.
A total of 51 CUG teams formed by 151 students, among whom there were undergraduate students, master’s students, and doctoral students, participated in the Competition.
The China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition is organized by the Chinese National Committee for World Petroleum Council, the Chinese Petroleum Society, and the Chinese Petroleum Society of Education.
