“Crinoid” is developed by the music technology team led by Associate Professor ZHOU Li from the School of Arts and Communication, Prof. CHEN Xin and Associate Professor LIU Zhentao from the School of Automation. Based on the integration of the performing techniques of the Chinese National Orchestra, artificial intelligence, machine vision, and machine learning, the team designed a real-time robot control system based on ROS, which enables the robot to read music, compose music, and play the hammered dulcimer. With arms having 12 “degrees of freedom”, it is one of the most advanced music robots in China. It is promising in fields like art performances, science popularization education, music education, musical instrument detection, and entertainment services.
