CUG’s 16 Research Projects Win Science and Technology Awards of Hubei Province

The Conference on Innovation in Science and Technology of Hubei Province held on February 18 offered the 2020 Science and Technology Awards of Hubei Province. CUG won 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 3 third prizes as the project initiators, and 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 4 third prizes as the project participants.

“Theories and Methods of Laser-ablation and Micro-analysis for Geological Research” led by Prof. LIU Yongsheng from the School of Earth Sciences wins the first prize of the Award for Natural Science

“Key Technologies of Prediction and Control of Unconventional Reservoir Characterization and Drilling Behaviors” led by Prof. NING Fulong from the School of Engineering wins the first prize of the Award for Scientific and Technological Progress

The projects led by Prof. SHI Wanzhong from the School of Earth Resouces, Prof. SU Aijun from the Three Gorges Research Center for Geohazards, Prof. LIU Hui from the School of Environment Studies, and Associate Professor WANG Yong from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information won second prizes of the Award for Scientific and Technological Progress respectively.

The projects led by Prof. WANG Guocan from the School of Earth Sciences, Prof. GUO Qinghai from the School of Environmental Studies, and Prof. LI Changhe from the School of Automation won third prizes of the Award for Natural Science respectively.

The 2020 Science and Technology Awards of Hubei Province include 2 Awards for Outstanding Contribution, 40 Awards for Natural Science, 30 Awards for Inventions, 228 Awards for Scientific and Technological Progress, 12 Awards for Promotion of Scientific and Technological Achievements, and 15 Awards for Innovation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Science and Technology.
