CUG Students Celebrate Spring Festival on Campus

Feb 16, 2021

As we waved goodbye to the Year of the Rat, the Year of the Ox was greeted with festive atmosphere. On February 11, Chinese New Year’s Eve, CUG prepared New Year’s Eve dinner for 353 students who stayed on campus during the Spring Festival.

On New Year’s Eve, CUG leadership conveyed greetings and gave New Year packages to the students in two canteens.

The students enjoyed a buffet dinner which provided dishes including double cooked beef slices, marinated chicken legs, soft-shelled turtle braised in brown sauce, shrimp balls and peas as well as various fruits and dessert. Many of the students shared photos of this special New Year Eve’s dinner with their families.

The canteens supplied the students with snacks and drinks so that they could watch the Spring Festival Gala together in the canteens. Besides, free lunch was available on the first and second day of the Chinese New Year.

To make sure the students could enjoy the Spring Festival even if they were not in their own homes, the leaderships of CUG and its schools also sent the students food, decorations, and pandemic prevention materials prior to the Spring Festival.
