As the year changes, a new chapter unfolds. On the evening of December 31st, the Nanwang Mountain and Future City campuses of CUG were filled with laughter and joy, bustling with crowds. Over 30,000 faculty and students came together for the New Year’s Eve celebration, ushering in the new year with excitement.
This New Year’s Eve Carnival featured a rich variety of activities, including a New Year’s Eve Gala, a carnival through the campus, a New Year lantern exhibition, traditional customs celebrations, a sports carnival, a late-night food market, and a welcome event for the new year, all creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere. Both campuses were adorned with colorful decorations and sparkling lights, together setting the stage for the beginning of 2025.
Amidst the decorations of red lanterns, Chinese knots, and colorful flags, the second floor of the First Student Dining Hall on the Future City campus was filled with the festive spirit. At 8 p.m., faculty and students gathered to make dumplings, sharing in the joy of this traditional New Year’s activity.
On the Nanwang Mountain Campus, the Third Student Dining Hall was filled with warmth as the “Late-Night Dining” event kicked off. Every food stall in the dining hall was serving freshly cooked dumplings for free to faculty and students.
On West Third Road of the Nanwang Mountain Campus, over 1,000 dazzling lanterns were on display, all crafted by students.
At 7 PM, the 2025 New Year’s Eve Gala was held on the Nanwang Mountain Campus.
At 9 p.m., the faculty and student gathering on the Future City Campus began with soothing melodies.
On Hongyi Road of the Nanwanshan Campus, 50 booths from 16 schools were set up, offering a continuous stream of exciting activities and attractions.
The Future City Campus featured three major areas and 27 activity stations. Participants were full of enthusiasm, gaining precious joy and memories as they completed the challenges.
At the entrance of the library on the Future City Campus, accompanied by lively music, a procession of floats slowly made its way in, marking the official start of the “New Year’s Magical Night” event.
At the West District Gymnasium and Rock Climbing Center on the Nanwang Mountain Campus, the Sports Carnival was in full swing.
As the clock struck midnight, the New Year’s Welcome Carnival began at the center of the sports field in the West District of the Nanwang Mountain Campus.
As the countdown to midnight for 2025 approached, the sports field in the West District of the Nanwang Mountain Campus and the gymnasium at the Future City Campus were packed with people. Faculty and students gathered together, shouting in unison, “10, 9, 8, 7...” as they eagerly awaited the arrival of the New Year.
Looking back on this New Year’s Eve Carnival, we bid farewell to the old year amidst laughter and joy, embracing the new with vibrancy. With the arrival of the new year, a fresh journey begins. Let’s carry this joy and hope as we write new chapters of brilliance at CUG!
