A symposium on the development of the geological engineering program was held on the Nanwang Mountain Campus of CUG on June 16, 2024.
CUG President LI Jianwei welcomed all the attending experts and expressed his gratitude for their continuous concern and support for CUG over the years. He hoped that the academics and professionals in attendance would take this symposium as an opportunity to have stimulating conversations. He wanted them to pool wisdom, reach a consensus, and provide guidance and impetus for the growth of CUG’s geological engineering program.
The attending scholars and experts confirmed the noteworthy accomplishments of CUG’s geological engineeringprogram, and also had a productive conversation about theprogram’s current problems and weaknesses. Their valuable insights and suggestions centered around the educational objectives, curriculum, faculty development, construction of field centers, and education-research-and industry collaboration.
