On June 17, Prof. Marja Makarow, President of the Academia Europaeae, sent notes of congratulation to Prof. WANG Lizhe and Prof. Tim Kosky on their election as new foreign members of the Academia Europaeae.
WANG Lizhe is a professor and doctoral supervisor. He received B.E. & M.E from Tsinghua University and D.E. from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. His research interests include remote sensing information engineering, digital earth, and geocomputing. He is a Fellow of IEEE, SPIE, IET, and BCS, and a member of the editorial board of Remote Sensing, International Journal of Digital Earth, ACM Computing Surveys, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Computing, etc.
Tim Kusky has been working at CUG since 2009, and he is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the National Observatory of Geohazards in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, School of Earth Sciences, and the State Key Laboratory of Geological Processes and Mineral Resources. As a distinguished geotectonist, he has been elected as a Fellow of the Geological Society of America and the Geological Society of London. Besides, he is the editor of Earth-Science Reviews, an associate editor of Geological Society of America Bulletin and Journal of Earth Science, as well as a member of the editorial board of Lithosphere.
