Over One Hundred Experts and Scholars Gather in Wuhan for Discussion on Decision Science and Emergency Management

The Academic Forum on Decision Science and Emergency Management was held in Wuhan from October 15 to 17.

The forum, hosted by the Professional Committee for Decision Science of the Systems Engineering Society of China and organized by CUG, aimed to promote the integration of decision science and emergency management.

WANG Linqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of CUG, says it is essential for harmony in society to strengthen emergency management and to improve the ability to prevent and deal with emergencies

RAO Daocai, Senior Researcher of the Emergency Management Office of Hubei, introduces the comprehensive risk census of natural disasters in Hubei Province and affirms the cooperative achievements by CUG and the Emergency Management Office

DU Dong, Director ofthe Professional Committee for Decision Science, briefs about the Systems Engineering Society of China and appeals to more scholars to join the society

During the first session, 7 keynote reports were given around “Decision science and emergency management” by professors and experts. The second one was set for young scholars to communicate with each other. In the third one, 15 graduates from different higher education institutions presented their ideas, and some experts made comments and suggestions afterwards.

The forum provided a multi-dimensional platform of exchanges for experts and scholars, and the necessary scientific and technological support and decision-making advice to improve the level of emergency management and the ability of decision science in China.
