CUG won the “President’s Cup”, the highest honorary award of national university sports, in the 14th National Student Sports Games. This is the seventh “President’s Cup” CUG has obtained.
In this year’s National Student Sports Games, 1 team leader, 5 coaches and 17 athletes from CUG joined the Hubei Provincial Delegation. During the 10-day competition, CUG members participated in swimming, athletics, and badminton.
The “President’s Cup”, set up in 1988 in the 3rd games, is an award commending universities for their contributions to campus sports, especially to competitive sports.
The games set up 8 regular items, namely swimming, athletics, basketball, football, volleyball, table tennis, aerobics, and martial arts, 2 irregular items, namely sailing and badminton, and 2 special events, namely beach volleyball and rope skipping. The 14th games is the largest one in its history.
