The 6th CUG Forum for International Young Scholars was held on the Nanwang Mountain Campus on May 20. More than 200 people, including SUN Zhijun, Director of Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, CUG leaders, Heads of Units, and young scholars attended the Forum.

HUANG Xiaomei, Secretary of the Party Committee of CUG, delivered a welcome speech. She ensured that CUG would support young scholars in various aspects including development, resources, and service.She expected them to live in Wuhan, join CUG, and contribute to education.
According to SUN Zhijun, Wuhan Municipal Government would enhance human resources, innovation, industrial, capital, and policy chains, with a view to attracting talents and business.
CUG President WANG Yanxin gave detailed information about CUG’s history, disciplines, research platforms, policy on talent recruitment, international exchanges, campuses, and so on. With CUG embarking on a new journey of “Towards 2030: Building a World-Renowned Research University in Earth Sciences”, he invited young scholars to build “A Beautiful China” and explore “A Habitable Earth” together at CUG.
LIU Yongsheng, Vice President of CUG, introduced CUG’s human resource policies.
Prof. ZHAO Laishi from the State Key Laboratory of Geological Processes and Mineral Resources and Prof. TONG Jinnan from the State Key Laboratory of Biogeology and Environmental Geology introduced the two laboratories.
Prof. WANG Zaicong from the School of Earth Sciences, Prof. GONG Xun from the School of Marine Science and Technology, and Prof. HU Wenkai from the School of Automation shared their work experiences at CUG.
Since 2017, CUG has held the CUG Forum for International Young Scholars annually, which is a platform for communication among young scholars from home and abroad.
