Two CUG projects, “A method of fracture formation in dry thermal rock reservoirs” and “A laser ablation signal line smoothing device” won 2 gold awards of the 1st Hubei Patent Awards.
“A method of fracture formation in dry thermal rock reservoirs”, accomplished by the team led by Prof. DOU Bin from the School of Engineering, is to create artificial thermal reservoirs in dry rocks by carbon dioxide fracturing, which plays an important role in promoting the commercialized development of hot dry rock geothermal energy.
“A laser ablation signal line smoothing device”, invented by the team led by Prof. HU Zhaochu from the State Key Laboratory of Geological Processes and Mineral Resources, improves the accuracy and spatial resolution of laser microzonal analysis to help us understand complex geological processes.
The 1st Hubei Patent Awards gave 20 gold awards, 25 silver awards, and 5 outstanding inventor awards.
