The construction commencement ceremony

The construction of Grove Industrial Base on Hydrogen Energystarted in Huanggang on April 29. Mayor of Huanggang City QIU Lixin and CUG President WANG Yanxin attended the ceremony.

Grove Industrial Base on Hydrogen Energy is designed to cover an area of 500 square kilometers and the project is divided into phases. After the construction, it will be a hydrogen energy community and industrial tourism demonstration zone. Upon completion of phase one in July of 2022, the Base is expected to produce 20,000 hydrogen vehicles and 30,000 hydrogen engines every year in an area of 234 square kilometers.

WANG Yanxin said that the construction of Grove Industrial Base on Hydrogen Energy elevated city-university cooperation and the socioeconomic development of Huanggang to a new level.

HAO Yiguo, Founder and Chairman of Grove, regarded Grove Industrial Base on Hydrogen Energy as a leading project which accelerated the transition to low-carbon development of the car industry driven by the national goals to realize carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

In May of 2020, Huanggang Municipal Government and CUG signed a strategic cooperation agreement including the project of Grove Industrial Base on Hydrogen Energy.
