CUG Professor Elevated to IEEE Fellow as of January 2021

According to the “IEEE Fellows Elevated as of January 2021” announced on November 25, 282 IEEE members become Fellows. Prof. WANG Lizhe from CUG is elevated for his contributions to high performance computing in processing, analysis and applications of remote sensing imagery.

Prof. WANG is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the British Computer Society. He serves as an Associate Editor for Remote Sensing, International Journal of Digital Earth, Big Earth Data, ACM Computing Surveys, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Journal on Miniaturization for Air and Space Systems, and IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Computing. He received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Tsinghua University and the PhD in Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation. The total number of IEEE senior members elevated to Fellow in any one year may not exceed1‰ of the total IEEE voting membership on record as of December 31 of the preceding year.
