From April 7 to April 10, a delegation led by Wlodarczyk Edward, president of Szczecin University in Poland, visited CUG. HE Guangcai, CUG Party Secretary, LAI Xulong, LIU Yongsheng, CUG vice presidents, and ZHAO Pengda, member of Chinese Academy of Science, and heads of relevant colleges and departments met with the delegation.
The members of the delegation of Szczecin University also included Gorsky Marek Piotr, vice president of science and international affairs, Misukaiytis Joanna Eva , director of international affairs, Halff Jane Edward, president of School of Earth Sciences, and Osdachuk Andrzej Marek, director of Institute of Ocean and Coastal Sciences.

During the meeting, LIU Yongsheng presided over the meeting and welcomed the delegation on behalf of the University. HE Guangcai introduced the development history, disciplines, infrastructure and international exchanges of our University, and reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities. Wlodarczyk Edward introduced the basic situation of Szczecin University and said that the two universities are very similar in aspect of subject setting and development concept. He looks forward to extensive cooperation in the future.
HE Guangcai signs an agreement with Wlodarczyk Edward
After the meeting, HE Guangcai signed a student exchange cooperation agreement with Wlodarczyk Edward. According to the agreement, the two universities will carry out student exchanges this year. Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in areas such as the EU Erasmus project, the Chinese government scholarship program, student exchange programs such as short-term visit programs, teacher exchange programs, cooperative research, and joint application for projects of Natural Science Foundation.
Academician Zhao Pengda and Professor Halff Jane Edward have a meeting
On the morning of April 10, Wlodarczyk Edward, president of Szczecin University, and his entourage visited Zhao Pengda, an academician of our University. Academician Zhao Pengda inquired about the cooperation between the two universities in detail and hoped that the cooperation would proceed smoothly.
During the visit, Wlodarczyk Edward and his entourage visited the museum of our University. They met with teachers and students of the School of Ocean Sciences to discuss the scientific cooperation between the departments.
It is learned that founded in 1984, adjacent to the Baltic Sea, Szczecin University is the largest university in the Pomeranian Region. Professor Halff Jane Edward of Szczecin University has established long-term and extensive cooperation with Academician Zhao Pengda, Professor Cheng Qiuming, Professor Jiang Tao and Professor Yu Jianxin. In April 2018, the two universities signed a memorandum of understanding, pursuant to which, both parties formally discussed the interscholastic cooperation.
