November 21-23 saw the 2025 China 5G+Industrial Internet Conference take place in Wuhan. The exhibition booth of CUG showcased multiple industry-education-research integration achievements from the School of Automation, attracting widespread attention from industry experts and coverage by major Chinese media outlets.
The exhibition featured two breakthrough robots co-developed with industry leaders: an intelligent exploration robot and a live-line operation robot. The intelligent exploration robot performs autonomous geological surveys in harsh terrains. It executes environmental perception, navigation, rock sampling, and geomagnetic measurements, greatly enhancing efficiency and safety in high-altitude, uninhabited regions. The live-line operation robot enables unmanned maintenance of 10kV-220kV high-voltage equipment. With advanced visual positioning and remote control, it performs precision tasks like insulator cleaning and wire stripping, already deployed across multiple cities in Hubei province.
