New Record Set: 28 CUG Members Summit Luodui Peak in Tibet

On October 5, a group of 28 faculty members, students, and alumni from CUG summited the Luodui Peak in Tibet, reaching an altitude of 6,010 meters and setting a new CUG record in group mountaineering. As CUG approaches its 72nd anniversary, the participants congratulated their alma mater on reaching this milestone and wished it further success in scaling new heights.

Faculty, students, and alumni eagerly signed up for the event. Having going through a five-day preparation which included technical training and altitude acclimatization, the climbing team began their ascent of the Luodui Peak at 4 a.m. on October 5. The team was made up of 21 students, 2 faculty members, and 6 alumni from five different schools. After 3 to 6 hours of arduous climbing, 28 members of the team successfully reached the top, setting a new CUG record in group mountaineering.
