Recently, CUG has received the official reply from the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province on the establishment of Hubei Provincial Research Center for Basic Areas of Earth Science (hereinafter referred to as Earth Science Center) .
The Earth Science Center will be led by CUG and established in cooperation with Wuhan University, Innovation Academy for Precision Measurement Science and Technology, CAS, Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, CAS, Wuhan Geological Survey Center of China Geological Survey, Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute, Institute of Geology of China Earthquake Administration, etc.
Based on the Yangtze River basin and its periphery, the Earth Science Center aims to solve earth science problems within Hubei province and to contribute to the preservation of the Yangtze River, thefulfillment of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, and the endeavor to build a Beautiful China.
