Modeled on the climbers of Mount Everest, the statue “Climbing” consists of an Earth dome and the climbers, integrating elements like Mount Everest, Earth, CUG history, etc. The climbers standing on the top of Earth means that CUG climbers have left their footprints on the peaks of seven continents and at the South and North Poles; the height of the statue is 8.848 meters, representing the height of Mount Everest, which is 8848.86 meters; the width of the Earth dome is 6.37 meters, representing the radius of Earth, which is 6,371 kilometers; the diameter of the bearing platform is 19.52 meters, representing the establishment of CUG in 1952.
