CUG Team Wins First Prize in 3rd Academic Search Challenge of Universities in Hubei Province

In the final of the 3rd “Wangfang Cup” Academic Search Challenge of Universities in Hubei Province held on November 7, CUG team led by CHENG Huilan and YU Sikun, staff of CUG Library, won the first prize. Besides, CUG obtained the Outstanding Organization Award, and CHENG and YU received the Outstanding Instructor Award.

From over 2,600 student candidates, CUG selected LONG Zhihuan, a second-year graduate from the Three Gorges Research Center for Geohazards, YANG Zhan, a first-year graduate from the School of Engineering, and TIAN Jinglin, a first-year graduate from the Gemological Institute for the final.

Started in 2017, the Academic Search Challenge of Universities in Hubei Province is held every two years to improve information literacy, promote academic resources, and bridge the digital divide among teachers and students at universities. This year, 23,000 people of 65 teams registered for the challenge. In the final, 1 special prize, 3 first prizes, 8 second prizes, and 12 third prizes were offered.
