The launching ceremony of “Yangtze River Protection Program for University Students” was held at CUG on July 9. Present at the ceremony were leaders from Hubei provincial government departments, leaders from the Bank of China (Hubei Branch), leaders from CUG, and over 100 representatives from more than 30 higher education institutions.
HUANG Xiaomei, Secretary of the Party Committee of CUG, said that this year, CUG, aiming at promoting ecological civilization education in Chinese universities and focusing on “Geology and Yangtze River”, “Ecology and Yangtze River”, “Civilization and Yangtze River”, launched the “Yangtze River Protection Program for University Students” so as to achieve interconnected protection of the Yangtze River between higher education institutions and society.
CUG student HAN Peng, together with student representatives from Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Central China Normal University, Wuhan University of Technology, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Huazhong Agricultural University, China Three Gorges University, and Yangtze River University, released the “Declaration of Action for the Protection of Yangtze River by University Students”. They promised to promote, practice, and lead the protection of Yangtze River, and help develop Yangtze River Economic Belt and build a beautiful China.
