The 24th Chinese Universities Badminton Championship took place from May 27 to 30. CUG’s badminton team won 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze medal of the Group 4 (the Super Group).
REN Pengbo, LIN Guipu, WANG Haotian, XIE Haonan, ZHANG Songye, TAO Jianqi, NI Bowen, TAN Yue, GUO Lizhi, and LIN Yingshiyu won the gold medal of the mixed team; REN Pengbo won the gold medal of the men’s singles; ZHANG Songye and TAN Yue won the silver medal of the mixed doubles, XIE Haonan and WANG Haotian won the bronze medal of the men’s doubles. With 4 medals, CUG even got a nickname “medal harvester”.
The Chinese Universities Badminton Championship is the highest annual event among its counterparts. This year, 125 athletes from China’s 19 universities took part in the championship.
