CUG and China Geological Survey (CGS) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, both sides will cooperate in various aspects including education, innovation, and research of earth science to improve both abilities to solve major resource and environmental problems and earth system science problems, and to promote the development of CUG and CGS. Both sides will work together to build a graduate school and a research center to carry out R & D activities, to organize international academic conferences, and to train professionals. CGS will support the development of earth science at CUG by providing funds for research projects, giving working opportunities to postgraduate students, and sharing laboratories, equipment, geological survey data, etc.
CGS is a government-owned, not-for-profit, organization in charge of geological survey and mineral resources exploration in China.
