Engineering Research Center of Rock-Soil Drilling & Excavation and Protection, Ministry of Education Evaluated as “Excellent”
CUG’s Engineering Research Center of Rock-Soil Drilling & Excavation and Protection, Ministry of Education (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) was evaluated as “excellent” according to an announcement released by the Ministry of Education.
The Center was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2006. Since 2014, the Center has formed a multidisciplinary scientific research team of 82 people who focus on geohazards prediction, prevention, and mitigation, deep and complex stratum drilling, detection and monitoring of rock mass, the key, fundamental, and common technologies of rock stability and reinforcement, etc. They have yielded many landmark scientific results and set up a platform for international cooperation and exchanges. What’s more, 1,428 postgraduate students and 162 doctoral students have graduated from the Center since its establishment.
A total of 74 engineering centers participated in the evaluation, among which 12 engineering centers affiliated with higher education institutions were evaluated as “excellent”.
