CUG Student Wins the Women’s Heptathlon in the Nineteenth National College Athletics Championships

On July 31, ZHOU Yanxuan, undergraduate student from the School of Sports Science and Physical Education won the women’s heptathlon in the Nineteenth National College Athletics Championships.

A heptathlon is a track and field combined events contest made up of seven events. The women’s heptathlon consists of the following events, with the first four contested on the first day, and the remaining three on day two: 100 metres hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 metres, long jump, Javelin throw, and 800 metres.

The National College Athletics Championships is foremost national sporting event of college students. This year, the number of participants reached an all-time high of 3,800 athletes and coaches from 308 colleges and universities around the country.
