(Edited and translated from the Chinese version) In December, 2018, the award ceremony for the “2018 Ecologically Friendly University of Hubei Province” was held at CUG, which was awarded the honor.
CUG has attached great importance to green landscape planning for a long time, putting a lot of efforts in cultural atmosphere, plant landscape and landscape illumination design to make the campus an ecologically friendly place with its own unique humanities connotation for work, study and relaxation. CUG campus has a virescence area of 475,400m2 and a greening rate of 98.5% with a wide variety of vegetation and plant species. It is a perfect demonstration of green landscape which is appreciated by passers-by.
The award ceremony for“Ecologically Friendly University” was jointly organized by the Greening Committee, Department of Education of Hubei Province and Department of Forestry of Hubei Province and aims to encourage universities to further develop their greenspace to improve their campus environments, creating a harmonious coexistence between people and nature. A total of 7 universities were awarded the honor this year.
