​CUG Students Win Special Award in 2019 Esri-Cup Chinese College Students GIS Software Development Contest

CUG team made up of GAO Ruixiang, CHEN Yiyang, FAN Zenghui, and HUANG Bowen from the School of Geography and Information Engineering won the special award of remote sensing application in 2019 Esri-Cup Chinese College Students GIS Software Development Contest on November 13. The prize-winning project was “Mapping of Frozen Soil Monitoring on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau”, and the team was the only winner of the special award.

Besides, other 5 CUG teams won third and winning prizes in GIS application development, geodesign, and remote sensing application.

Esri-Cup Chinese College Students GIS Software Development Contest is a practical activity annually organized for students by Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography and Esri China Information Technology Co., Ltd. The Contest of this year included five categories: individual challenge, geodesign, GIS application development, remote sensing application, and 3D application. In remote sensing application, 1 special prize, 1 first prize, 6 second prizes, and 39 third prizes were awarded among 132 projects.
