CUG won 2 second prizes and 3 third prizes in the 16th “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest held in Beijing from November 8 to 12. The two works of the second prizes were submitted by School of Earth Sciences and School of Engineering.The three works won the third prizeswere from School of Engineering, School of Marxism, and School of Materials Science and Chemistry.
Dubbed as the Olympic for college students’ science and technology innovations, the “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest is organized biennially with the aim to foster the development of young innovative talents. This years, the Contest was co-sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education and other relevant organizations. It attracted nearly 3,000,000 contestants from 1,573 higher education institutions, and after the preliminary rounds of the Contest, a total of 447 projects from 213 higher education institutions were shortlisted for the final round.
