On Sptember 26, President Kosyanov Vadim and Vice President Koval Aleksandr of the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting visited CUG. President WANG Yanxin and Vice President LAI Xulong of CUG, and Heads of Units held cooperation talks with visitors.
The two sides reviewed the history and achievements of cooperation over the past decades and exchanged views on cooperation in cultivating students, applying for international research projects, promoting the exchange of international academic journals and carrying out joint fieldwork. During the talks, Heads of CUG expressed that CUG would encourage more students and teachers to participate in collabation between the two universities.
On behalf of CUG, WANG signed a memorandum of understanding for friendship and cooperation with the other side.
Moreover, Kosyanov Vadim and Koval Aleksandr attended the 1st High-end Symposium on Deep Earth Drilling and Resource Development.
The Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting is the first university in Russia which trains specialists in geological sciences and geological engineering. It originates from Moscow Mining Academy founded in 1918 and was renamed in 2005.
