CUG Professor Wins Golden Hammer Award of Youth Geological Science and Technology Award

Prof. WANG Wei of the School of Earth Sciences has won the Golden Hammer Award of the 17th Youth Geological Science and Technology Award.

Prof. WANG was born in July, 1984, and his main research fields are sedimentary petrology and Precambian geology. He has won the Sartorius Hong Kong Scholarship of the University of Hong Kong, the Australian Endeavour Research Fellowship in 2018, and the Hou Defeng Award in 2018. In addition, he has published 60 papers in domestic and international journals which has been cited for over 1,100 times in total and over 370 times as the first author/corresponding author by SCI.

The Geological Society of China set up the Youth Geological Science and Technology Award in 1988. The award includes the Golden Hammer Award and the Silver Hammer Award, and it is presented every two years. 10 people have received the Golden Hammer Award this year.
