​CUG Teacher Selected for Young Talent Supporting Program of China Association for Science and Technology

According to the announcement of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Associate Professor ZHOU Jiaqing of the School of Engineering was selected for the 2019-2021 Young Talent Supporting Program of the CAST.

CUG employed ZHOU as an outstanding young talent in September, 2018. His main research interests are seepage characteristics and deformation stability of rock mass. He has published 18 academic papers in the past 5 years, of which 7 are published in the SCI journals likeGeophysical Research LettersandWater Resources Researchwith him as the first author.

Young Talent Supporting Program was initiated by the CAST in October, 2015. By providing financial rewards, the Program supports young scientific and technological talents under the age of 32 who have great innovation abilities and development potential, and helps them make outstanding achievements in the golden age of creativity and grow up to be the important reserve force of high-level leading talents and innovation teams in major science and technology fields of the country.

10 are recommended by the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering (CSRME) among all the candidates of the Program, and ZHOU is the only young scholar from Hubei province as a member of the CSRME to be selected for the Program.
