Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences YIN Hongfu Awarded Lifetime Achievement Honor by Palaeontological Society of China

CUG professor YIN Hongfu, a paleontologist as well as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Honor by the Palaeontological Society of China during the 1st Asian Palaeontological Congress – with celebrations on the 90th Anniversary of the Palaeontological Society of China on November 18.

Prof. YIN Hongfu, born in 1935, received his Bachelor’s degree in geology from CUG in 1956. In 1993, he was elected as a member of the CAS. He also served as the president of CUG from 1996 to 2003.

The Palaeontological Society of China was set up in 1929, which has promoted and witnessed the development of palaeontology in China during the past 90 years.
