CUG Teacher Wins “Lorenzo il Magnifico” International Award in Italy

Local time on the morning of October 27, PENG Jing, associate professor from the School of Arts and Communication, won the “Lorenzo il Magnifico” International Award of Product Design in the award ceremony of the XIIth International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Florence.

The awarded work is “Chu Ru”. The Chinese word “Chu Ru” has two meanings: in and out; differences. The work shows a novel combination of the surface of Chinese paper fan and the picture of a Chinese traditional garden.

Since its first edition in 1997, Florence Biennale has been the major contemporary art exhibition in Florence (Italy), where it is regarded as an outstanding showcase of the international contemporary art production. 747 artists with nearly 1,800 works from 78 countries participated in the Florence Biennale 2019.
